EXPANDING HORIZON

ART AND CRAFT CENTRE – where creativity knows no bounds

The art and craft is used for art, pottery, sculpture, and modelling. Students have plenty of opportunities to use the centre in their free time. Majority of the work done in the centre is displayed around the college.
TOGETHER (mentoring and networking)
Together matches the students with mentors in professionally supported one-to-one relationships. We have volunteer programs in communities nationwide. Our volunteer programs are implemented to explore the powerful, positive, lasting impact that our students and mentors can have on each other. Unlike many initiatives such as this, both parties seek to learn from each other sharing experiences, opinions and concern they might have.
We have a vast number of mentors that support this program all around the world and we strive to pair up teams with similar interests and needs. Although we are responsible for creating a distinguished and eclectic pool of mentors our students pick their mentors because we believe they are best at communicating what they need. A lot of things have to happen before we make a match. After they express an interest in our volunteer opportunities, all our mentors go through a thorough background check and careful interview process. Then we match our teamed based on location, personalities and preferences. And we provide full support for our location programs along the way – so that matches can grow into lasting friendships.

School-Based Mentoring is a lesson in friendship! Kids enjoy School-based Mentoring. And parents know what a difference it makes. But some of the biggest supporters of School-Based Mentoring are actually teachers. They see students come back from their one hour week mentoring session with confident smiles, ready to learn to succeed.
Kids Who Feel About Themselves Do Better in School.

School-Based Mentoring is not a classroom program, and it’s not tutoring. School-based Mentoring is one-to-one mentoring that takes place in the schools. Of course, some students do talk with their mentors about class, or do homework, or read together, but it’s really all about friendship and guidance. You don’t need any special training or certification. If you can spend one hour a week, arranged around your needs and the school’s scheduled, you may be able to start participating in our TOGETHER program this fall!
