Scholarships

Dowen College offers Full-tuition or Half-tuition Scholarship to deserving students who score 80% and above in all tests and examinations. The scholarship remains valid as long as the student maintains "A" grades in all subjects.

Honors

At the end of each year a list is also compiled and certificates of excellence are awarded to outstanding students in all classes to motivate and encourage students to strive for excellence at all times. This list is known by everyone at Dowen College simply as The Principal's Honors List.

Other awards and recognitions are also accorded to deserving students for outstanding perfomances at both curricular and extra-curricular activities.

ACADEMICS

1st among 12 - VGC Club Spelling Bee Competition 2008
Dowen College came first out of twelve schools in the Spelling Bee Competition organized by Victoria Garden City Club (senior category). Also Dowen College is still in the MTN English Grammar Competition and has won the preliminary stages with a prize of N50,000.00 and MTN packed bags fof each participant.
5th SEF Inter-school Debate 2009
Dowen College also came fifth out of thirty schools in a debate organized by Supreme Education Foundation, Lagos.

MUSIC

Best School Choir - LCF Musical Concert PineField School, Lekki - 2009
The school won the Best School Choir Award at the musical concert organized by an NGO, "Love Comes Softly" held at the PineField School, Lekki. Abouts ten schools took part in the competition. Many thanks to the members of the choir especially Ebube Maduka-Uggwu and Rhema Ike who rendered solo number at coccasion and the school music directors Tunde Sosan and Ayo Akinduro.

SPORTS

1st Prize Trophy - Elite soccer Tournament For Lagos Island Private Schools - 2010
The junior team has it again winning the prestigious trophy at the Elite soccer Tournament held among private schools in Lekki, Victoria Island and the environs. Among the teams that played Dowen tournament are Whitesands, American International, White Dove and many others.
1st & 2nd Prize - Lekki Invitation Relay Competitions - 2010
We are happy to report that Dowen College teams have been coming first (boys) and second (girls) in most invitation relay competiions.
