ADMISSION INTO DOWEN COLLEGE LAGOS

REGISTRATION

Application for the Admission forms are obtainable at the school’s Admission Office or can be down – loaded from the school’s website:

www.dowencollege.org

Entrants from the primary school usually join the school on their tenth year or after their tenth birthday.

Entry into other classes (Year 8 and 9 or senior Secondary School) is also available.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Pupils who have obtained the form should return it back to the school with the following :

2 recent passport size photographs

1 photocopy of birth certificate

1 photocopy of the last term School result of their present school

Testimonial from previous school or letter recommendation

Candidates who have been cleared by the admission office normally sit for an entrance Examination organized by the School’s Academic Department.

 

Candidates for entry into Year 7 usually write a common entrance examination held at the College and various centre across the country. This examination occurs in the months of March, April and May.

Transfer candidates are also required to sit for an entrance examination appropriate to their level in various subjects.

For all candidates, final offer of admission is based on the performance at the entrance examination and reports from previous school.

 

CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY

Parents of successful candidates are required to confirm their child’s admission by paying a non – refundable deposit by bank draft to the School Account office. Those entry have been thus confirmed are assured of a place at the college provided they satisfy the entrance requirements.

Those who wish to defer admission are expected to write to the school principal and also maintain the place by the paying the non-refundable deposit. Parents who wish to change schools from their wards are required to write to the school, giving at least a term’s notice before the change is effected.
